I'm not sure if I ever fully explained how Clean Water For Haiti helps improve lives. Yes...they build water filters and provide them for those that need them, however they DO NOT give the filters away. This is very important. Filters are subsidized. They cost about $40USD to produce and that includes the labour and the materials sourced locally. Each family that hears about the water filters and sees the need and its worthiness will purchase a filter for $40 Haitian Dollars, which is about $5 US dollars. Not bad, right! Anyway...the reality is that when one invests into something they have a greater appreciation for it.
