World Water Day in Vancouver

It's hard to believe a year has gone by since the last World Water Day. This year, I'm partnered up with sowhatdoyouthink.com to bring awareness to World Water Day. Most people still don't know this day exists. We asked people to take the challenge of carrying a 20 litre container full of water. Talk about heavy. Reactions ranged from "If I had to do this everyday, I'd die" to "I think I sprained my arm". The reality is, I live in a place where clean drinking water is available from a tap, actually several taps, in my home. I can't imagine having to walk 6 km everyday to fetch water that may not even be safe for me to drink and having to drink it anyway because I have no choice. Water is vital and we all need it. Water is everyone's right and it ought to be available for every single human being in this world. Sadly, it seems to be more of a privilege today. One in 8 children in Haiti will not live to even age 5 because of the lack of clean water. Every 20 seconds there is a child dying somewhere in the world because of water issues. I'm so grateful for what I have today. Thank you Lord. If you'd like to donate: http://www.cleanwaterforhaiti.org/Design/HTML/donate.html
